Hey, this is Mark. I remember when I graduated high school. I had just gone to school and I decided I was going to be a minister. I was going to help people.
For that summer what I had done, is I somehow, got signed up to sell Bible story books. It was supposed to be a good training, being able to go out and meet people, talk about Bible stories, all kinds of stuff like that.
But you know what I found and I can still remember to this day, sitting there thinking about it, I should be doing this. This is what they told me it takes to be successful, but I could not make myself do it. I could not force myself to go see people. I could not force myself to go knock on doors and that’s the way things are for a lot of people with a lot of stuff.
Maybe you’re decided that, all right, I’m going to lose some weight. I’m going to go on a diet and you go on this diet and it comes down to the point that all you can think of is food. Every time you talked to someone else about the diet you say, I’m on this lousy diet. Every time you think of the Diet, you think about how bad it is and how hard it is and how difficult it is.
You know something. If what you’re trying to do doesn’t make you feel good, guess what’s going to happen? You’re going to fail. You are never going to be able to make yourself do something that you don’t like.
That’s a great part of the system that I developed. Because the thing that this system does, is it allows you to change the way you feel about things.
I have a whole variety of exercises that we can do. The way that you feel about something:
- Whether it’s losing weight=
- Whether it’s succeeding in your business
- Whether it’s doing the things that you need to do to be successful
- That you don’t feel right about
- That you feel like you hate
We can take those things and make your mind feel differently about them:
- To feel good about it
- To like doing those things
- To wanting to be successful
- And it’s exciting
I think that’s the big thing about this whole system that I put together. The idea is that you can change the way you feel, If you can change the way you feel. If you can learn to like things that you want to do, you’ll be successful.
We can train our minds to learn to like lots of different things. Let’s take for instance the people who smoke. Most people who smoke the first time they smoke, they got sick, it tasted terrible, they coughed, they wheezes and it just was miserable, But those people learned to keep going, keep trying it, because of peer pressure, because of whatever it was, they learned to keep going at that thing that tasted nasty and then learn to like it. Eventually they got to the point where they can’t live without it.
Well, what can be learned can be unlearned. What you don’t like now, you can learn to like. What you like now, you can learn to hate.
It’s just a matter of changing the way you think of something. I’ve come up with this whole series of exercises that allow you to do just that. Change the way you feel about things. I believe changing the way you feel about stuff is the key to changing your life for the better.
